My favorite Baby Wrap carrier the Sleepy Wrap now makes a soft structured carrier the Boba Carrier. I love baby wearing and by far my favorite carriers are soft structured carriers. The Boba Carrier is soft and made of 100% Organically grown Cotton and has some uniquely fantastic features. While it is great for front or back carry and very easy to breast feed in it also has a removable sleeping hood and removable foot straps which make it pretty unique. Mainly it’s the foot straps that I find different then other carriers I have seen. When your child reaches a certain age (toddlerhood) their feet start flopping about to give them something to feel secure the Boba Carrier has created the foot straps which are like stirrups (think horseback riding). These straps also help a lot with being kicked or flailing legs. The hood is great for that sleeping baby or for some weather protection (sun, wind etc). This carrier is easy to use and great for someone starting out in baby wearing or the experienced baby wearer. The Boba Carrier is recommended for babies who are around 9-12 months old to a 45lb child or 4 year old.

Boba is a Soft Structured baby carrier (SSC) that is intended for toddlers 15 pounds and up. Boba has a few extra inches of height to keep your center of gravity closer to your body and support your little one’s back. The innovative thing about Boba carrier is that there are foot straps attached to the waist belt for the child’s feet to sit in enabling a healthy sitting position for the child. The footstraps not only give little tired legs a rest, but support the legs in a flexed abducted (froglike) position which naturally tilts the pelvis, fills out the hip sockets, and aligns the spine.

The Boba 2G sleeping hood is the perfect solution for your sleeping child. Follow these easy steps to protect your little one’s head while napping:
•When your child has fallen asleep, remove the hood from the carrier by sliding the two elastic bands off the ends of the hood on either side.
•Grab one hood strap and extend it straight up towards the top of your head, securing it to the shoulder strap on the same side using one of the snaps.
•Repeat, attaching the second hood strap to the shoulder strap on the same side.

NOTE: Leave a little slack in the hood so that your child’s head is not pressed too snug against your body. Ensure the hood does not cover your child’s nose and mouth to maintain an open airway.
When not in use, roll the hood and the straps together and secure on either end with the elastic straps located on either side

Extra Pointers for the Boba Sleeping Hood

•The hood may be removed completely by unsnapping the three snaps at the base of the hood, and unsnapping the snaps from the shoulder straps.
•Roll the hood, leaving straps to hang, making it easy to release the hood from the elastic bands.
•The hood may also be used as a nursing cover, allowing for discreet breastfeeding while carrying your little one. Try releasing one side of the hood from the shoulder strap, making it easy to check in on your baby.
•Protect your child from direct sunlight or wind using the hood on both the front and back carry. Be sure to leave slack in the hood so that your child’s head is not pressed too snug against your body.

Starting around a year and a half or when your child hits two his/her legs will probably be long enough to use the straps. They are used much like stirrups except they are adjustable by use of velcro. The important thing to remember is that your child’s feet should be parallel to the ground. Your child’s knee should be pulled up to at least his/her hip level and then the velcro should be adjusted accordingly.
If the straps need to be adjusted, follow these few easy steps to ensure a comfortable ride:

•Release Velcro strip along the bottom of the foot strap, sliding the strip through the fabric loop to tighten or loosen.
•Secure Velcro once you have adjusted to the necessary size.
Foot straps may be moved from front to back by sliding the plastic attachment piece along the cording as needed.
