Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Playdough (Non-edible)

Materials Needed:
2 cups water
2 cups Flour
1 cup salt
4 tsp cream of tartar
3 tbs oil (vegetable, canola)
Mint Extract( just add enough to get the scent you like)
Green Food Coloring

Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl
2. Add water, oil, and green food coloring in a measuring cup stir. Then add this mixture to your dry ingredients.
3. Cook over medium heat or in an electric skillet until it congeals.
4. Remove from heat and put on wax paper.
5. It will be hot! Knead when it is cool. Add mint extract to get desired scent and more food coloring if necessary. Continue to knead until scent and color is incorporated throughout playdough.
6. After it is cooled keep it in an airtight container. This dough keeps well and does not crumble.
7. To make this play dough look like real Mint Chip ice cream. Use a hole punch to make some “chocolate chips” out of dark brown craft foam

Use a single hole punch and a brown or black craft foam to make chocolate chips

To turn playdough into a gift put it in some mason jars add some fabric and labels repurpose old spice jars we made chocolate chips (craft foam) candles (cut pipe cleaners) and sprinkles (chunky glitter)

Sensitive Skin Playdough

Ingredients needed:

1 cup (plus a couple Tbsp) All Purpose Flour
1 cup Water
2 cups Quick Oats
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Food Coloring (Optional)
1 tsp Vanilla (Optional)
1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder (Optional)

Directions:

1. Mix one cup of the flour, quick oats, and (optional Cocoa Powder).
2. Add water and oil and (optional Vanilla and food coloring)
3. Stir until the play dough forms a ball.
4. If the play dough is too sticky add flour a tablespoon at a time to reach the desired consistency.
5. Knead the play dough until it reaches the desired consistency.
6. Enjoy!
7. Store in the refrigerator in an air tight container.

If your play dough becomes sticky after time, you can add additional oil.

Jello Play Dough

Materials Needed:

1 cup white flour
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 3oz pack Jello (any flavor)
food coloring (optional- its just to brighten the color)

Directions:
1. Add Flour salt and cream of tartar to a bowl and stir.
2. Add pack of jello and hot water (I use boiling water) to a separate bowl and stir- you are trying to dissolve the gelatin
3. Add oil to jello and water mixture
4. Add jello mixture to flour mixture and stir
5. Move to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens into a ball of dough. (takes a while)
6. Place the dough onto a cutting board and wait for it to cool
7. Knead dough adding flour-IF NECESSARY- until it is no longer sticky- I RARELY NEED TO ADD FLOUR
8. Add food coloring to brighten color if you like
9. Enjoy!
10. Refrigerate in an airtight container between uses.
