DEBUTS MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, ON PBS KIDS

New Animated Series Produced by The Fred Rogers Company

A new generation of preschool “neighbors” will get to experience the Neighborhood of Make-Believe when Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood premieres this fall on PBS KIDS. The first TV series inspired by the iconic, award-winning Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood from The Fred Rogers Company stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original program’s Daniel Striped Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world, giving them a kid’s-eye view of his life. As they closely follow and share Daniel’s everyday adventures, preschoolers ages 2-4 and their families learn fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood premieres Monday, September 3, on PBS KIDS with a special one-hour block of two back-to-back episodes. The series will air daily following its Labor Day premiere (check local listings).

The education department at Pretend City will also have some related programming that day to facilitate discussion about the show between parents and their children.

Disney Pixar Brave- Review

I have to tell you I think Brave is my new favorite Disney movie. To be fair I love just about everything Disney, but Brave is special. Instead of a Princess who is looking for her Prince to save her so she can fall deeply in love. This Princess is able to hold her own rescue herself and others and is not in any rush to get married. Merida is the kind of heroine I want Kaia to look up to. I think it is definitely time for our Princesses to start realizing that they can take care of themselves and Disney has created that quality in Brave. Kaia and Mikey absolutely loved this movie. In fact this is the first Movie where I was able to take Mikey and he sat through the ENTIRE movie. It was awesome! This is a movie for all our little Princesses and even our Princes. Everyone is going to love this one!

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. From Disney and Pixar, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida(voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition and challenges destiny to change her fate.

“Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her skills and resources – including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers – to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late, discovering the meaning of true bravery.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor that audiences of all ages around the world have come to eagerly expect. The film takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
