Rubber Band and Marble Discovery Bottle

Only use Gatorade or G2 bottles for the sensory bottles they are a heavier plastic so they hold up better and keep a unison look so everything looks good. They come in different sizes you can find smaller ones for small hands if you need to.

Make sure to ALWAYS seal your bottles securely! I cannot emphasize this enough. Unless you want your bottle opened and the contents poured out. SEAL IT… with glue. Duct tape can be peeled off by a determined kiddo. Glue is much harder for them to open up.
Picture 132I love this bottle! You will need hair gel. I filled the bottle a little more than half way with gel and then I added my rubber bands. You can use any size rubber bands. I like the mini colorful ones. I got mine at the Dollar Store. I added the rubberbands after I had filled the bottle half way with gel. Then I finished filling the bottle with gel.

Picture 133Once the bottle was filled I added four marbles. You can add more or less. Just make sure you add at least one.

Picture 134Put the cap on and shake and the marbles will start moving around the rubberbands.

Picture 138I know I already said I love this bottle but I really do. You can talk about colors, numbers try and count each color of rubberband. Which color do you think there is more of?

Picture 139Talk about weight and density. Why do the marbles move the rubberbands around?

Rubber Band and Marble Bottle
Fill bottle with hair gel1/2 way and then add rubberbands.Once rubberbands are added top off the hair gel. Add the marbles (at least one) you can shake the bottle and see the  rubber bands move. Ask questions, make guesses. Talk about colors, numbers, and density.  Create variations- Add different colored gel,  to the same bottle (it will layer but mix over time) and glitter etc.
