Starch and Soda Playdough

Materials needed:
2 cups baking soda
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup water and 1/4 cup reserved for after you are done cooking
heat source
wax paper
Food coloring (optional)

1. Mix all ingredients in bowl and then Cook over medium heat stir constantly
2. When mixture thickens to dough like consistency, remove from heat
3. Cool
4. Knead for 5 minutes
5. Add the extra 1/4 cup if you feel it is necessary I did it helped the dough become much smoother. You will need to keep kneading if you add the extra water until the playdough and water are completely combined once again. Remember this playdough should be smooth not crumbly.

This is a SUPER soft playdough that feels almost like baby powder on your skin and has a really interesting texture. It reminds me of a stress ball. It is definitely a favorite!

I forgot to mix the liquid watercolors (I was using instead of food coloring) during step one so I just added at the end after the playdough was cooked
