Summer Reading Books

Summer time for us has always meant traveling whether its short distance or long we are usually going somewhere fun. What’s not fun is the in-between time the time it takes to travel. So how do you pass that time with a good book of course. I received the four books below and they are fantastic. We have enjoyed reading these books in the car, at bedtime, and throughout the day. These books have quickly become some of Kaia’s favorites. While they are all fantastic I especially like the Where’s Waldo? Book. I used to love Where’s Waldo? And I am so glad I can share it with Kaia and Mikey. If you are looking for some fun summer reading with your little one’s I would check these books out. Especially if you are planning a vacation.

* Where’s Waldo? The Wonder Book
* Where’s Waldo? In Hollywood

The world of Flanimals, madcap creation of comedian and actor Ricky Gervais, is perfectly realized in this lavish pop-up book. From Flanimal evolution and behaviour to Flanimals of the air and of the deep, all aspects of Flanimal life are open to exploration through huge pop-ups and intricate flaps. Perfect for all ages, Flanimals Pop-Up is the ideal introduction to the Flanimal kingdom and the perfect gift for Flanimal lovers everywhere.

Imagination goes a long way when four friends play together — even when they stay close to home — in a fresh, enticing story for preschoolers.

Summer is here, and Little Nye is making icepops to take on vacation. Nella is stuffing too much in a suitcase, and Lester offers to remove some things to lighten the load. Out go toys for beach games, flippers and masks for paddling, and more. But why won’t the suitcase shut now? Good thing that rubber raft is really all they need for their journey — and the garden hose makes a wonderful nautical spray!

Maisy’s packing her bags and setting off on a fun vacation in a story that’s perfect for young children making a trip away from home.

How exciting! Maisy has put her sun hat, pajamas, toothbrush, and camera into a bag, and she’s off to the train station with Panda and Cyril. They’re headed for the seashore, but getting there is only half the fun. Coloring and snacks help pass the time on the ride to the beach, where Maisy can’t wait to swim, collect seashells, build sandcastles, and lots more. At nighttime it feels special to go to bed in a hotel—knowing that tomorrow another vacation day awaits!
