Only use Gatorade or G2 bottles for the sensory bottles they are a heavier plastic so they hold up better and keep a unison look so everything looks good. They come in different sizes you can find smaller ones for small hands if you need to.
Make sure to ALWAYS seal your bottles securely! I cannot emphasize this enough. Unless you want your bottle opened and the contents poured out. SEAL IT… with glue. Duct tape can be peeled off by a determined kiddo. Glue is much harder for them to open up.
Swirling Colors Bottles
Spray foam shaving cream into a bottle. Add warm water to fill the bottle. Shake, and watch the foam dissolve. Add more water/shaving cream if needed, till all the foam is dissolved. Add food coloring (one color per bottle). When finished, attach the lids and prepare to be mesmerized as the color and the white swirl together. The picture does not do it justice this bottle is AWESOME!- This bottle does need a day to set. Don’t give up on it. This will be one of your favorites!
Fill the bottle as much as you can with shaving cream. The bigger the bottle opening the easier. This might seem like an easy step. Its not. Looking at the bottle it looks empty but its not. The bottle is full of air. You have to push the air out to get all the shaving cream in. A lesson unto itself.
Add warm or hot water and liquid watercolors or food coloring. Roll around and let the water absorb the shaving cream
Once the shaving cream has been absorbed you can add more water or more shaving cream or both. I usually add a little of both until you fill to the top. Keep adding water until the shaving cream is completely dissolved. This takes more than a day. I usually let it sit 24hrs and then add more water until it is filled completely.
